What is the Canadian Dental Care Plan?
The Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) is a national dental benefits program created by the Government of Canada to help make dental care more affordable for eligible Canadian residents. It’s designed to cover a wide range of dental services for people who don’t have private dental insurance and have a family income under $90,000 per year.
Would I qualify for the CDCP Plan?
To qualify, you must:
- Be a Canadian resident
- Have no access to private dental insurance
- Have an adjusted family net income under $90,000
- Have filed your tax return for the previous year
What Does CDCP Cover?
The plan covers many preventive and basic dental services, such as:
Can everyone get teeth whitening?
Most adults are good candidates, but whitening is not recommended for children, pregnant or breastfeeding women, or patients with untreated cavities or gum disease. We’ll examine your teeth to ensure whitening is safe and effective for you.

How do I book a whitening appointment?
You can call our office, book online, or visit us in person. Our friendly team will be happy to answer your questions and schedule your treatment.
- 100% coverage for income under $70,000
- 60% coverage for income between $70,000–$79,999
- 40% coverage for income between $80,000–$89,999
Do I need to apply for the CDCP?
Yes. You must apply through the Government of Canada. Visit Canada.ca/dental to check your eligibility and apply.
